The International Aviation Services Organization (IASO) announced that it has been included in the list of international organizations invited to attend official meetings of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as an observer, during the 218th Session of the ICAO Council held in Montreal on November 22, 2019.
This recognition came following a recommendation from the President of the ICAO Council, after which the Council approved the inclusion of IASO among the international organizations invited to participate in relevant meetings. This step strengthens IASO’s international presence and its role in representing the aviation services sector globally.
IASO was founded by Mr. Munir Khalifa, Founder and Chairman of the Board, alongside Co-Founder Samir H. Al-Asadi and CEO Captain Samir Sajet, with the support of a Board of Directors possessing extensive international experience in the aviation sector. The organization began its activities in Dubai in 2015 before being officially registered as a non-profit organization in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 23, 2016.
IASO operates through a network of regional offices in Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, the United States, and Egypt, with the aim of supporting the interests of aviation service companies around the world and enhancing cooperation among service providers, regulatory authorities, and decision-makers in the sector.
The organization seeks to develop shared professional practices, address operational challenges, and promote a deeper understanding of the role of aviation services in supporting national and global economies, thereby strengthening its position as an active international platform for representing the aviation services industry.
